For what it's worth, the scene after the credits in "Venom" is a very long excerpt (5 minutes maybe) from this movie. It looks pretty great on the big screen.

The trailers up front were the best part. Here is a stream of consciousness vomit of my thoughts.

It was pretty solidly in the lower end of the Marvel movies. On one hand, it makes absolutely no connection to the rest of the MCU, which it probably could have used. On the other, I felt like I was watching some shiny version of a Jackie Chan movie with all the tropes from the my-body-has-been-possessed-by-a-bad-comedy-writer schtick. I think mainly the movie has trouble deciding whether it wants to be a dark version of a marvel movie, or a comedy/action flick. Michelle Williams is wasted as the female lead, and has a distractingly annoying hairdo throughout. The villain, who is supposed to be a mega-CEO, looks like he'd get carded at the local Applebee's. Tom Hardy yet again conjures up an impression of a muppet as his speaking voice.

The movie has a couple of creepy scenes in the beginning but otherwise its perfect for kids. Duncan rated it better than Antman and Wasp, and not as good as Ragnarok, which is far more generous than I would have been.

There IS a really cool teaser in the credits for Woody Harrelson as Carnage, but the dialogue is so hammy you have to smirk at it. Which I will likely wait to see on HBO if the movie gets made.
