Last night was the first time I played MW2. It wasn't nearly as bad for me as the last one was, even though I was constantly in matches with guys who were level 40+ most of the time and I don't know the buttons or the maps or the important differences between the guns.
You forgot to mention that you got 37 kills. :gunner:

Really? That seems high.

What age is the man who only plays once every two months? ;)

More along the lines of ... a man my age shouldn't play two nights in a row. Plus the night off whets the appetite...

Me too! I was out a week thanks to my bro ;) I am glad you are back. :)

That Will Ferrell clip is good but I have much more of a cringe factor now that my daughter is getting older..7 short years until 13..."I wish you were dead!" Are parental hiatus' still frowned on?

I'm not usually the first to post, but I feel the need to release my awe of last night's insanity. It would be hard to single out who was most on their game, but I don't think I've ever seen Andy dominate the interwebs with such iron-fisted authority (I think he actually fisted a guy). The best part was the teenager up past his bedtime tearfully begging "UMTRIBE please leave me alone! I'm reporting you!". It was a bullet storm you boys threw up out there and I'm proud to have been a part of it.

I may not be able to play again, because anything short of last night will be a total let down.

High: If not the openly weeping nerd, it was probably getting the nuke for my forst time, twice. Nurse, call the Waahmbulance for the lobby. I've never had such angry speculation on my sexual proclivities.
Low: Slow corpse disappearing rate. I had that huge stack outside my hidey-hole in scrapyard and got killed by a guy hiding on the other side

Finished the campaign.

Spoiler:
I never finished CoD4... stopped after the AC130 mission. So I don't have that to compare. I really liked this game, and the story was pretty great by videogame standards. Was shocked by the Terminal scene and Shepherd's turn really surprised me. Didn't quite understand his motives. Kinda sucks that I had to Wikipedia it to get it. But it was a great moment and the game from that point was a downhill run.

Excellent, engaging game. Nice to have good voice acting and the character models/motion capture were good. Most of all I liked that several missions had some sort of new mechanic. The snowmobile chase, racing across the rooftops, etc. The zodiac race wasn't hard, but I was still on the edge of my couch.

Now I can go get ME2 or Fallout. But I won't be selling MW2, don't worry.

Good plan. I didn't love Fallout (actually ended up selling it), but I know people who did like it.
It's all ME2 for me. I should probably finish Batman, Bioshock, Prince of Persia, MW2, Zelda, and Metroid 3 first, but ME2 is calling me.

I still have Bioshock and Deadspace to finish; but I can't tear myself away from MW2 multi player.

I had my first xbox 360 experience this past weekend. Connor, my 12 year old, and I went in half and half on it and he's pretty geeked. I went in to play COD with him and it was less than pleasant. Here's a transcript:

Me: Alright Con, give me a minute to figure out what in the world is going on
Con: O.k.
Me: Is that triangle moving toward me you?
Con: Uh-huh.
Me: Don't... oh man.
Con (laughing)
Me: O.k. Now cut it out and let me see if I can figure this out
Con: O.k.
Me: Hey, no! Don't!
Con (laughing as he cuts me with a knife...again): You should move quicker.
Me (as I drop the remote and walk out): Thanks for making that fun.

So I learned a couple of things from this:
First - I am not good with that many buttons on the remote
Second - My son will agree with me and then do whatever he wants (no real surprise here)
Third - I really like my Sega Genesis
Fourth - I will take my ball and go home if it doesn't go my way

I'll try again, but that was exasperating at best.

Bob's on Xbox?!

Play the campaign some by yourself to learn the controls. Then when you play 12 year olds, your son included, at least you'll know *why* you're getting slaughtered. It'll take you awhile, and you'll never get "good" probably, but at least it will be more fun.

I sense a disturbance in The Live. Someone, or something, evil has arrived.

You want to talk about a disturbance, I felt like I should share something. Some of you already know that Kelly purportedly bought me this little Call of Duty game that you monkeys play. The problem? She hid it before Christmas and we never found it. . .until last night.

Question - should the freak open up this bad boy or should he sell it and pick up NHL or something along those lines?

That's really funny.

I have to say, the multiplayer in MW2 is much more pleasant than it was in MW1. I've heard good things about the campaign, too, but I haven't gotten into it at all yet.

I will say also that it is totally something you can do alone and have a good time with. I do it all the time and you all know how girly I am about playing vs. the Internets. Frustration will be high at the beginning, but get used to the game and it's a blast. And maybe we can all play again together someday! :whistling:
