It's been a year like no other. Regardless of what happens from here on out, it's been a season to remember.

This article captures the spirit of New Orleans and Louisiana and its relationship to the Saints really well.

I haven't read the article yet, but Dan's post reminded me how cool I think it was that Drew Brees got totally invested in the NO community when he signed there. He said he wasn't moving there just to be a QB, but to be part of the community. He bought a house right away, I think he does all kinds of charity type stuff, etc. I was in SD when he got benched for Rivers, and he handled the situation with class. I hated seeing him torch La-La (again, again) but I'm glad he is succeeding in NO. I'm def pulling for them to get to 18-0 in Miami.

Dude. That was fun to watch. Many cheers (to go along with what I hope were many beers)!

Thanks everyone. Man, what a game! I'm about to sit down and watch it again. It seemed really entertaining. I couldn't tell. ;)

Thoughts:

1. Wow.

2. The Colts played well, and we beat them by playing creative, well executed football.

3. Sean Payton's hubris finally pays dividends. That onside kick at the beginning of the half was the perfect play. It was also indicative of all of the tricky stuff that got us into trouble in 07 and 08 after making it to the NFCCG in 2006. He's been a great play caller all year, keeping his hubris in check, but maintaining a level of creativity. He indulged himself a few times this game, and called the right play that time and it was a HUGE momentum shift.

4. Williams apparently had 3 game plans for Manning. 1 for the first half and a second and third for the 3rd and 4th quarter.

5. I LOVE that Tracy Porter had the Superdome and the Lobardy Trophy shaved in his head.

6. I'm tired of hearing about Katrina. Hopefully this will be the end of it.

7. There seemed to be a lot of Saints fan in the stadium. Things got loud when the Colts had the ball.

8. There will be a lot of babies made in NO tonight.

9. I remember coming here in 2000 and found it impossible to watch a Saints game in a sport bar in this town unless they were playing a good team. My mom and my uncle and I had to call in advance to make sure that they were going to play the game... so we were at a different sports bar every week. I can't blame them, but it's cool the be on the top now, surveying the landscape.

10. I loved all the naysayers in the media.

11. WHO DAT?!?! Yes, Indeed.

12. Garrett Hartley.

13. I love Jeremy Shockey. He's really kind of a neat guy.

14. Hammered.

I just want to get something straight. Last year we elected an african american president. We've gotten 55 inches of snow in Virginia this year with 4-6 more coming tomorrow and the Saints are Super Bowl Champs??

Pretty cool night. I started off not really caring who won but as the game wore on and the Saints kept making plays (and, I thought the Colts just seemed to get flatter and flatter as the game wore on - the Manning face was in full effect throughout the second half), I pulled for the Saints. Happy for my main man Daniel.

After The Saints VICTORY PARADE (it's just sinking in) last night, Brees showed up at a bar, and they put him behind the bar and gave him a microphone. He led the bar in one of his pre-game cadences.

Awesomeness.

Goosebumps. That is so awesome. Drew Brees is, simply, the MAN.
